Chief Executive Officer
Seth Patel is CEO of Alan Gray and Alan Gray Risk Management and provides overall leadership and management of the business. Seth is a seasoned (re) insurance professional with deep insurance experience across front, middle, and back-office functions. His experience includes working as an industry executive at leading (re) insurers, consulting the C-Suite across a myriad of strategic & operational challenges, and structuring financing deals for global (re) insures as well as Insurtechs. Seth graduated from the University of Illinois (Urbana) with a B.S. in Bioengineering, M.S. in Pure Math, M.S. in Applied Math, M.S. in Finance, and is a graduate of Columbia Business School and Harvard Business School.
Chief Operating Officer
Massimo Colosi is Chief Operating Officer at Alan Gray, bringing 20 years of leadership in strategy, planning, product management, and M&A for various financial services companies, with extensive focus on P&C as well as Life Insurance.
He is currently responsible for operations, marketing, human resources, technology, and finance, and works closely with the CEO and other leaders at Alan Gray and AGRM.
Massimo is a CFA charter holder, holds an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School, and before joining Alan Gray, he worked in strategy and operations for various insurance organizations including Verisk, New York Life, and Marsh & McLennan Companies, as well as a management consultant for PWC and Oliver Wyman.
Founder & Executive Vice President
Al Gray is Founder and EVP of Alan Gray. He has over 50 years of experience in the insurance industry as a claims professional and continues to be involved in sales and business development at Alan Gray and provides consulting, auditing, management, adjusting, and expert witness services to a variety of organizations.
Prior to founding Alan Gray, he worked for other companies in the insurance industry including Cameron & Colby, Palange & Associates, New England Claims Services, Inc., HANSECO Insurance Company, and Middlesex Mutual Insurance Company.
Al is a member of the International Association of Claims Professionals (IACP), served 2 years in the U.S Army, and graduated from Colby College with a B.A. in Business Administration.
Managing Director, Claims Audit
Normand Vermette has been involved exclusively in the insurance industry since 1991, and is a licensed attorney in the State of Massachusetts. Currently, Norm oversees audit services provided by the firm. Norm’s experience includes reengineering claim operations to improve proficiency of claim handling throughput procedures from intake to closing. Norm has extensive knowledge of claims involving all lines of general liability (products and occurrence), professional liability, and property (residential and commercial) coverage. Norm has negotiated hundreds of settlements as the client representative during mediations and has provided expert opinion on case valuations. Normand is a member of the Massachusetts and American Bar Associations. Before Alan Gray, he worked with companies such as First State Management Group, Inc. and Donovan Hatem, LLP, and graduated from the New England School of Law in Boston.
Managing Director, Legal Expense Audit
Katherine Hawke is a Managing Director at Alan Gray LLC. She is a licensed attorney possessing over 24 years of consulting experience. Katherine and her team of attorneys and technicians specialize in legal expense management, offering clients strategies, tools, and data-driven analysis to address legal costs. Prior to joining Alan Gray LLC in 1999, Katherine obtained her Juris Doctorate from Suffolk University Law School, graduating cum laude while working full time at Lexington Insurance Company. Additionally, Katherine holds M.B.A. and B.S. degrees from Suffolk University and Union College (NY).
Managing Director, Quantitative Services
Malini “Mala” Ireland is a Managing Director at Alan Gray. Mala is an accomplished, detail and process-oriented advisor and strategy leader with over 25 years of experience. Mala specializes in cultivating relationships, developing strategic vision for implementation, and driving positive business impact for companies and insurers involved in mass-tort litigation. Mala excels at fostering collaborative partnerships and enabling a continuous improvement mindset into all business operations.
Mala is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and a Six Sigma Green Belt. Prior to joining Alan Gray, Mala worked with companies such as Anaqua, Inc., Navigant Consulting and PACE Claims Services. She graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA with a B.S. in Industrial Management.
Bryan Enos is a key member of the AGRM team, acting as the Managing Director for our Finance and Operations practice groups. He leads the overall onboarding of new books of business and all aspects of the financial reporting process. His professional history includes over two decades at an insurance carrier focusing on all facets of accounting and acting in a senior role managing Premium & Loss Reporting, Reinsurance Premium Payable and Loss Recoverable processes. At AGRM, and previously at Armour Risk Management, Bryan manages operations for an insurance company in liquidation, including all claim, finance, actuarial, and compliance work.
In addition to Armour Risk Management, Bryan also gained his experience working at One Beacon Insurance Group and graduated from Newbury College with a B.S. in Business Management.

Managing Director, Head of Growth and TPA Services
John Murphy is a claims executive with over 35 years in the insurance industry. John has served as a trusted advisor to clients and colleagues alike by understanding their goals and challenges and collaborating with them to find the right solutions. John began his career with the New York State Insurance Department. He subsequently worked at several global insurance companies including the American International Group, the ACE Group, and the Enstar Group. In addition, he has worked at a number of global consulting firms including Accenture and PricewaterhouseCoopers. John received his BA in Political Science from Fordham University and his Juris Doctor from the New York School of Law.
